Ohio Workforce Incentives – New and Improved

Ohio employers continue to compete for skilled talent and there are several workforce and training incentive programs to help offset your training costs!

1. Ohio TechCred Program- it’s back and it’s updated! The next application period starts October 1 and closes October 30.

  • How does this program help? Upskills current and future employees by providing reimbursement for technology-focused, industry-recognized credentials.
  • What are some notable updates? Eligible employers may be reimbursed up to $1,000 per employee, per credential, with a maximum award of $30,000 per application period. The program now has a sharper technology focus. Training must now start on or after the first day of the application period and be completed within 12 months.

2. JobsOhio Technician Path – this is a NEW one and supports longer training journeys!!

  • Provides Ohio employers up to $10,000 per employee for an approved technician training pathway such as a 2-year degree or registered apprenticeship.
  • The focus is on technician roles. Examples: machinery mechanic, robotics technician, electrical and electronics engineering technologist, semiconductor processing technician, aircraft mechanic, etc.
  • Training programs in areas like mechatronics, automation, engineering technology, chemical process technology, and similar fields are covered.

3. JobsOhio Relocation Incentive - don’t forget about this one!

  • Are you hiring from out of state or thinking about it? This program helps Ohio employers attract STEM and technical talent from outside the state.
  • Eligible employers can receive a $15,000 incentive payment for each qualifying out-of-state hire who relocates to Ohio and establishes residency.
  • This program is a valuable tool for organizations facing talent shortages and looking to expand their workforce with highly skilled professionals.
